Afro-Cuban sounds and Mediterranean rhythms met in the Barcelona Big Latin Ensemble, an all-star band made up of Latin jazz musicians with links to Barcelona. This debut performance features Omara Portuondo, the leading lady of Cuban music.

The Catalonian audience have had 4 opportunities to see this encounter:

June 28th Barcelona - Festival Grec

June 29th Manresa - Sala Kursaal

June 30th Tarragona - Fet 2007

July 1st - Matraó - Festival Cruilla de Culturas

The repertoire was based on her hits and some songs brought by the artistic director of the Big Band himself. The concert was started with an instrumental version of Latin Cha Cha followed by the appearance of Omara, who also had her debut singing Xavier Montsalvaltge's "Cuna Para Un Negrito"
