The photography of George Wells combines his respect for form, his constant search for the captive moment in time, and his great love for music and art. Having earned his Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago, George’s eye has been trained on the deconstruction of form, as well as the contextual relationship to its surroundings. His many months spent traveling in Italy spawned an endless love affair with sculpture and the representation of the human figure. His long history of photography has coalesced into a unique style, where George’s eye flows from the form he sees performing into the line of the instrument. Of Esperanza Spalding he says, “Esperanza is a perpetual dance of line and lyric, form and fusion…a pleasure to photograph.”
