OMARA HAS JUST FINISHED THE RECORDINGS OF HER NEW ALBUM

01/10/2008

It has been three years since Omara´s last solo album "Flor de Amor", now she wants to delight us with a great surprise, the release of her next album in 2008.

The recordings took place in Havana (Cuba) and the production was carried out by the Brazilians Alê Siqueira, also producer of her last album and Swami Jr. Both producers wanted to get from this work, the vibe of the sound from the fifties, so they counted with an unbeatable quintet of musicians like; the Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu, the Israeli bass player Avishai Cohen, the Cuban piano player Roberto Fonseca, the Brazilian guitarist Swami Jr and the Cuban percussionist Andres Coayo.

Each of them left an indelible brushstroke into this wonderful portrait that is a tribute to Omara´s 60 years of career, a journey through a whole life dedicated to the music.

The album has a very special repertory chosen by her, from all those songs that always touched her heart and from the authors that she admires like Silvio Rodriguez, Pablo Milanes and Jorge Drexler among others. Drexler composed a beautiful song called "Gracias" that was specially dedicated to her. There is also a song composed by his son which is played by Chucho Valdés among other great collaborations like Russell Watson ...

We are very proud of this new album that at the moment is in the process of mixing and mastering and that will be very soon in the stores.

Thank you Omara!
