In the cold nights of Paris in December, Robero Fonseca crossed the Atlantic to give a single concert. One night at the Theatre Bouffes du Nord. Alone. He and his piano; and several elements arranged on stage. A couch, a lamp, a refrigerator, and his distinctive hat. Each prop with a special significance. An intimate space, where Roberto spoke, played and acted. Theater, improvisation and music. A proposal never undertaken, which has now confirmed two shows in France next September. The 10th at Jazz a la Villette and 11th in Jazz in Tourraine. Roberto Fonseca more intimate and personal than ever.
Roberto Fonseca is an unconditional fan of Jazz in Marciac. He surprised audiences last year, with a special show only performed in Marciac: Tradicional. This year along with Fatoumata Diawara and his band they brought the audience to a collective euphoria with their song Bibisa. For sure it was one of the best shows of Marciac. A more intimate version but no less intense, was Mandela. A tribute song to the deceased politician composed by Diawara.
